Bek & Frohnert

Contemporary art conservation focused on time-based media, kinetic art, and light-based works is at the center of Bek & Frohnert LLC’s practice. The studio works with complex contemporary artworks that involve non-traditional materials, industrially fabricated components, and advanced digital technologies.

Its approach combines conservation treatment with research, documentation, and preservation planning, drawing on cross-disciplinary collaboration across fields including engineering, neon technology, and computer science. The practice also supports acquisitions, collection surveys, exhibition installations, and preventive conservation planning tied to storage, transport, loans, and archival care.

Based in Long Island City, Bek & Frohnert works with museums, artists’ foundations, galleries, private collections, and estates in New York and internationally.
