Period Furniture Conservation specializes in the conservation of period furniture and wooden objects, with strong emphasis on historic surfaces, finish analysis, and technically informed treatment. The studio’s work centers on structural and surface integrity, with clearly supported depth in lacquer, gilding, marquetry, carvings, frames, and historically appropriate finishes.

The practice combines craft-based treatment methods with scientific examination and AIC-guided conservation process, including testing and analysis where needed. Preventive conservation, collection surveys, and pre-purchase or pre-sale technical review are also part of the studio’s service mix.

Most work is carried out from its Jersey City studio, with onsite work performed throughout the United States for residences and other contexts.
